My Life

Born and raised in Muncie IN, also known as ‘Little Chicago’ (John Dillinger hung out there) and ‘Middletown’ (from the Lynd study on middle-American communities). So, I’m about as typical middle-America as they come. Joined the Air Force after graduating from Muncie Northside High School. I started in the Air Force as a Communications Center Specialist before finally completing my training to be a Communications System Programmer. I had two assignments to Offutt AFB, NE. First 1974-79 and again 1985-88. I was at RAF Croughton, UK in 1979 -82 and Tinker AFB, OK, 1982-85. My last assignment was to HQ European Command (HQEUCOM) in Germany from 1988 until retirement in 1994. But I stayed there as a contractor before moving on to the Joint Analysis Center at RAF Molesworth, UK in 1999. In 2005, I returned to the U.S. and we settled in Oklahoma City, where we live with our three Miniature Dachshunds. I currently work for DELL on contract with a major airline manufacturing company.

I married my bride, Rose, in 1975. We have three sons. Our first son died when he was 6 months old after being in the University of Nebraska Neonatal ICU since birth. Our other sons grew up mostly in Germany and the UK. In fact, the youngest one was born in Oxford.

During my career in the Air Force and elsewhere, I’ve had extensive experience on multiple computer systems and programmed in more languages than I have space for here. Yes, I’m a geek. But as a past boss once put it, a geek with class. My pocket protector is Connolly Leather. Yes, it had the Jaguar Logo on it.

My Interests

Besides reading, writing, and computers, I enjoy golf, both watching and playing. I’m also a bit of a nut about Classic Jaguars. E-Types especially. Shown is my 73 coupe from when I was on the Entente Cordiale,  in France with the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club. My daily driver is a 2005 XJR that I brought back from England.

My favorite fictional authors are Robert Ludlum and Tom Clancy. But I’m also a fan of Rex Stout, Sir Author Conan Doyle, John Grisham, Jack Higgins, Lawrence Sanders, and Louis L’Amour. To name a few more.

My first book in the Inspirational Fiction Series; MOOSE RIDGE: ENDING TO BEGINNING. is available now at: http://champagnebooks.com/store/home/887-moose-ridge-ending-to-beginning-9781771559867.html

Besides writing and working as a contractor, I teach Bible Study classes and I’m a Deacon at my church in Oklahoma City.

my writing journey

My Writer’s Journey

I’m a novelist of  Inspirational Fiction (Family Saga) &  Spy Thriller book series.

The MOOSE RIDGE series is an inspirational fiction / women’s fiction with romantic elements and a Christian sub-plot. The first book, MOOSE RIDGE: ENDING TO BEGINNING, is available from Champagne Book Group. I had the idea for my first book, SIBERIA CALLING, for several years. It was a spy thriller, and one day I started writing it. Since then it has gone thru massive revisions and edits. At one point it was over 50,000 words.

While working on it,  several characters begged to have their stories told. This led me to write others which are all in the process of finalization. All part of a series following the life and careers of Sam Williams and Robert Cord.

Now, with several others ready for publishing, I am working to arrange  representation. I’ll keep you posted on how it is going.
